Foundations

With this being my very first blog, I thought to lay a foundation.  I believe foundations are vitally important in seeing joy, blessing and success in every area of our life.  Any strong structure must first be built upon a strong foundation.  With no foundation, buildings crumble and can't withstand the storms of life.  When we make Jesus, the very first stone laid in our foundation, we are building on a sure foundation that is guaranteed not to fail.

What have we learned?
With Jesus as our chief cornerstone we can now turn and look at the important watermarks in our life.  What are the things that God has firmly ingrained in us.  That's the best place to start in laying a foundation the rest of your life will be built on.
Isaiah 28:10 10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little...

That's how God is.  He teaches us things a little at a time: here a little, there a little and from there we build upon those principles.

As examples a few of my foundations are:
Jesus Christ and his Word are the core foundations of my life.

God wants to bless each and every individual and has designed a purpose and plan for each person's life that will effect eternity.  He desires to prosper his people and takes pleasure in seeing his people blessed!

Before a person can build upon Jesus they must first know him and I have a responsibility to share my faith. I am a soul winner and both unashamed and unafraid!

Laughter is good and you can never laugh to much.  Natural laughter is good but the joy of the Lord is even better and is able to heal sickness, disease and wounds of ever sort!

People are important and matter.  Those closest to you are the most important like family and then friends.  All people though are important.  If they are in my life, they are important.

Time and how you spend it is important. Manage your time wisely because everything you do requires the use of it!

Communication is important.  We don't know everything and we have a lot to learn from individuals. Relationships are stronger when communication is strong.

Holy Spirit leadership is important.  The Spirit of God is a comforter, a guide, the very best friend one can have.  Without the Holy Spirit, you're on your own.

Visions and dreams are from God and can be achieved by first believing and then realized by not abandoning them.  They are also achieved by going through the process of like a pregnancy, carrying the vision, nurturing the vision and bringing it forth through travail.  This is something I believe very strongly and God has ingrained in my spirit!

Time in God's presence is vital.  No relationship grows without time and in the same way we spend time with the people we love, it's vital to spend time with the one who loves us most- God!

Write down the important things you've learned from God.  What are they?  Ask yourself that question and ask the Holy Spirit to show you.  Make a decision that every action you take and every project you set out to complete, even in your secular life, will have those firm foundations as guardrails in the journey of life! These are the foundations God has given you to build the rest of your life, and all of your dreams, visions, and accomplishments on.

Be blessed and may the joy of the Lord be your strenth!

Nehemiah 8:10  10Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
